About
Who we are?

We are Puss in Bed
We are an independent, non-profit online library of zines and printed matter.
What began as an effort to digitize publications living on the shelves of Bedeng Akademi Subkultur in Yogyakarta has grown into a shared archive built through contributions from personal collections, community libraries, and independent spaces.
We work with zines, artist publications, music fanzines, comics, pamphlets, ephemera, and other forms of self-published print culture. Each publication is scanned manually and preserved as a high-resolution digital copy, with attention given to the look and feel of the original print.
Rather than presenting the archive as a single collection, Puss in Bed acknowledges the many shelves, rooms, libraries, and communities that make access possible. Through the From the Shelf of... network, publications remain connected to the people and environments that have cared for them over time.
We believe that access is a form of care. Many publications exist in limited numbers, circulate within specific communities, or remain inaccessible to readers beyond their immediate surroundings. By digitizing and sharing them, we hope to extend their reach while keeping them available for future readers.
Puss in Bed continues to grow through shared access, trust, and participation. If you would like to contribute scans, share your shelf, or support the archive, we would be glad to hear from you!
