Cut and Rescue
Produced by Jakarta-based art collective Cut and Rescue, this publication reworks cult Indonesian religious comics by replacing their original stories and dialogue with contemporary narratives. Through appropriation, humor, and satire, familiar moral tales are transformed into commentaries on present-day social and political life.
This publication was one of the works presented by Cut and Rescue in the Pelicin group exhibition at Salihara Gallery as part of the 2013 Jakarta Biennale.
